Pet Odors and Stains
Owning a pet can be a very enjoyable and rewarding experience for the entire family, but can also be very frustrating and challenging – especially when it comes to dealing with pet odors. Besides natural animal body odors, unwanted odors and stains from urine, feces and emesis (vomit) can be difficult to deal with and manage. For many pet owners, the ongoing challenges of odor and stain removal and management only takes away from the positive aspects of pet ownership.
Common Mistakes Can Lead to Frustration
Unfortunately, most pet owners do not know the correct approach to effectively eliminating pet-related odors and stains. Based on consumer reports, 9 out of 10 urine stains will be first treated with a detergent. While using a detergent may provide an immediate sense of success, the results are short lived and the odor soon returns. When the odor returns, pet owners typically will then try an enzyme-based odor management product without realizing that the soap and detergents previously used inactivate the enzymes and lead to product failure. Then, the odor comes back again and the challenge and frustration of dealing with the odor continues.
